everything there is to be known (York, 2014) |
Commissioned by York Curiouser and the River Foss Society
everything there is to be known is a performance event engaging audiences in the mythology of an urban river.
Laser cut umbrellas telling fragments of stories are suspended between blue helium balloons and ice blocks in the river. They reside on the river until the ice melts and the balloons carry the umbrellas away across the landscape.
“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.” AA Milne, Winnie the Pooh.
Some images are taken from the York Curiouser Flickr Group and the York Amateur Photographic Society, many thanks for these guys.
