Pernoctations, (Cushendall, 2022)

Pernoctations is the first work arising from the Searching for the Miraculous project. Constructed as a series of night vigils in the cell of the Curfew Tower, a performer works thorugh a series of rituals and meditations, conjuring words from his inconsistent memory and decaying body, interspersed with obsessive moments of vanishing towards Loughareema (the Vanishing Lake). The work channels language from stories and interactions in Cushendall with my usual sources of Beckett and Milne. This was exhibited in the Cell of the Curfew Tower during the group exhibition.
